| 初めてのパーキンソンズ体験は、オーディエンスを完全に飲み込んで大好評を博したという昨年のフジ・ロックではなかった。当日の模様を、ほぼオン・タイムでネット発信するというFuji Rock Expressのスタッフとしての仕事に忙しく、ライヴを見る時間がほとんどなかったからだ。 が、彼らの驚異的なステージの噂は急速に広がっていった。そして、それを見事に証明してくれたのが東京でのライヴだった。ザ・パーキンソンズが抱えているのは、ロックンロール本来の興奮そのもの。彼らの演奏を目の当たりにすると、興奮を抑えることができないどころか、声を上げ、体を動かし始めてしまうのだ。 |

ところが、それから数日後に北見で彼らのライヴを再び体験することになるのだが、あの興奮でさえ、まだ始まりでしかなかったことを思い知らされるのだ。客の数が多かろうが、少なかろうか、日に日に彼らの演奏はさらにエキサイティングになり、その限界がどこにあるのかもわからないようなテンションを感じさせてくれる。 その通り、北見での彼らは東京以上にエキサイティングで、それよりも遙かに興奮させられたのが帯広。旭川ではザ・ジョニー・ボーイズの強力なパンクに触発されたのか、帯広に輪をかけてワイルドなステージを展開し、あれこそが最良のパーキンソンズかと思わせたんだが、そうではなかった。ヴォーカルのアルが「ずっと見たかった」というロリータ18号と同じステージに立ち、地元のハイ・ブラッドプレッシャー、ザリガニ5、そして、惑星らの好演で、この北海道でのベストの演奏を札幌で目撃できたように思える。 |
