| Coming to Italy, the biggest and the most overwhelming surprise was to find a rainbow colored "PACE", "Peace" in English, flag everywhere in town. Though TV news did not tell us a lot about what was happening here, but we hear that there were about 3 million people marched in Rome to protest against the war in Iraq or I should say the US and UK invasion into Iraq. I still could not believe 3 bloody millions of people marching really, but even if the number was not pretty right, we could know that the majority of the people here in Italy clearly stated "NO WAR" to the world and they still are doing so through this personal demonstration of showing a flag of peace to the public. It really is amazing and gave us a suggestion that there is a way like this we can take here and there and everywhere. In fact, I will do the same when I get back home in Tokyo, but to me the most scary thing is there are some countries where you could not do so... People are so scared they might have been attacked by doing things like this. Do you know where those countries are? They are the USA and the United Kingdom whose politicians are bringing "Liberation" and "Democracy" to Iraq. What a laugh! |

 I believe there are so many musicians trying to do something to stop this bloody war and this band from the UK called Capdown, "Capitalist Down", seemed to be one of them. They clearly stated on stage, "The govenment is sending forces there, but we do not supoort the war. Fuck Blair! Fuck Bush!" Needless to say, everyone in the venue agreed with their comment. |
